Dear Church family,

Unfortunately, Governor Gavin Newsom and the State of California are requiring Worship services to discontinue singing in person due to the spikes in the positive cases of COVID-19.  The order is attached below and you can read it yourself.

While we are technically still allowed 100 people in a Church service this presents us with some difficult choices.

1. We could meet and not worship at all.

2. We return to virtual and have a full service online and in our homes.

3. We disobey the order.

I think option 2 is the best of a bad situation so that is what we as a Church are electing to do.

Certainly this isn’t what we are praying and hoping for, the total reopening of our Churches, however we are undeterred in our love for God and each other. I urge us all to redouble our efforts to intercede for Jesus to give us victory over COVID-19.

In the meantime I look forward to worshipping with you virtually this Sunday. I have a great word from the Lord that I am positive will powerfully minister to all of our spirits.  It’s a new three part series called “Spring Water” This Sunday’s message is titled “Internal.”

So to be clear there is no in person worship service this Sunday July 5th.  We are 100% virtual live-streaming at 10:45am.  We will return to in person worship as soon as we are allowed to sing in person again.  They may be able to regulate what we can and can not do in our Churches but they can not prevent us from having the joy of the Lord and attitude of Christ Jesus!

I pray the joy of the Lord will be your strength!

JUNE 23, 2020 UPDATE

Hello Church family!

It was great to see those who attended one of our three Father's Day services last week.  This Sunday June 28th and next Sunday July 5th, we will offer two in-person worship services, our 9:00am and 10:45am.  We will livestream our 10:45 am service as well.

We will not have the 12:30 pm service as we did not fill to capacity any of the three services we offered last week. Should we begin to fill to capacity, we will revisit the option of having a 12:30 pm service.

We are also going to begin the re-opening of our Children's Ministry Center and Nursery.  In accordance with the State and County guidelines, we can accommodate up to 6 infants in the Nursery per service and up to 12 children in the CMC per service.  We understand these are small numbers but it is what we are allowed for now.

Having said that, along with giving your RSVP for your church attendance, you will need to RSVP your infant and/or child(ren) for Nursery Care and the Children's Ministry Center as well.

All RSVPs are on a first come first serve basis.

Let us continue to pray for the following five things as a congregation:
1.  Revival in America
2.  Repentance of racism
3.  Defeat of COVID-19
4.  Economy to fully re-open
5.  Church to fully re-open without restrictions

Leslie, Aleigha and I are in Idaho with our family this Sunday.  Pastor Pancho will be preaching this Sunday and is going to give a great message.  We look forward to being back with you on July 5th.

In Christ's service,
Pastor Sean Fitzhugh

JUNE 17, 2020 UPDATE

Greetings Church Family!

I have great news!

The Lord has heard our prayer and the County has given us the ability to open our Churches in accordance with the State's guidelines.  This means we will be hosting our Father's Day services in our sanctuary instead of in the back parking lot!

Our service times will be 9:00 to 10:00 am, 10:45 to 11:45 am and 12:30 to 1:30 pm.  Each service is hard capped at 100 people, so we need you to please RSVP.

If you have already RSVP'd to the outdoor service your RSVP will count towards the service closest in time to the one you signed up.  For example, if you RSVP'd for the 9:30 am service you are now RSVP'd for the 9:00 am service.  The same is true for the 11:00 am service counting as the 10:45 am service.  The 12:30 pm services is the only service that remains the same time.

We still have to wear masks for now until that is lifted by the County and I pray that day comes soon.  We will have rows clearly marked that are closed and open so that we can comply to social distancing standards.  Please remember you can sit right next to people of your own household but need to maintain a minimum of 3 seats between you and the next person not of your household.  Our balcony and wings will be open so as to allow people as much social distancing as possible.  We encourage people to spread out from one another.

Root beer will be available for you to help yourself to on the patio, everyone can have one and we hopefully will have some fun cars parked in the drop off circle for people to enjoy while they fellowship. Our drinking fountains will be turned off but we will have bottles of water available with the root beers.

All social distanced fellowship needs to take place outside the Church building.  Please don't chit chat in the worship center or the foyer but do so out on the patio or in the parking lot.

There is still plenty of room in all three of our services so please RSVP asap. Once all three services fill up you will have to wait until next week to come in person.  If anyone can't make it in person we will be live streaming our service at 10:45 am.

We will not provide childcare nor children's ministries at this time.  Children are welcome but must sit with their parents.  Pastor Allyse has some busy bags made up that your children can utilize during the service if you choose to bring them.

Well Church, this is a step in the right direction.  Let us continue to pray that God opens our Country up completely and that COVID-19 is eradicated in Jesus name!

JUNE 16, 2020 UPDATE

Dear Church Family,

For Father's Day, Sunday June 21st we will be holding special outdoor services in our back parking lot. The service times will be 9:30 to 10:30 am, 11:00 to Noon, and 12:30 to 1:30 pm. We will have 100 chairs set out socially distanced and the City has approved our amplified sound permit.

The services will be held outdoors, so we recommend you come prepared to wear a hat and some sunglasses and if you are sensitive to the sun, you may want to plan to wear some sunblock.

We hope to have some fun cars in the parking lot for people to enjoy in honor of Father's Day and we will have ice cold root beer in cans that everyone can help themselves to and enjoy before, during or after the service. Giving via mail, online, text or through bill pay is preferred but if you'd like to give in person you can do so at a table situated at the back of the service. If you have a car you would like to display, please contact me at pastorsean@opccag.org.

We are still required to wear masks per the Contra Costa County Health Department and only the people singing and preaching will not be wearing masks while they are ministering. The restrooms near the Cedar Room will be open and cleaned between each service. We will have hand sanitizer readily available and encourage everyone to wash their hands frequently.

We ask that you please RSVP for you and members of your household only at this time. If you cannot attend in person this Sunday we will pre-record the same service Saturday in the Sanctuary and broadcast it at the normal time of 10:45 am.

I am really looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible this Sunday but for those of you who do not feel comfortable attending in person at this time please know that I completely understand and am glad you will be joining us online. Let us all continue to pray all together for: Revival, Repentance, Healing, Prosperity and Freedom for the USA.

Never forget God loves us, has blessed us, is blessing us and will bless us still! He is or good, good, Father and we are loved by Him!

Dear Church Family:

Our office has been closed due to the Contra Costa County - Shelter in Place order.  However, we will continue to remain open virtually as our dedicated staff work from home.

Please feel free to contact the church office at 925-934-3056 during regular office hours, Monday - Friday 9AM-4PM. For their safety, our office staff will be answering incoming calls remotely. As usual the church office will be closed Saturdays and Sundays.

We will still have services online on Wednesday night at 7PM and will livestream our Sunday service at 10:45AM.  You can view theses services on our website and our Facebook page.  Below you will find links for our Facebook and Vimeo pages.

Contra Costa County has prohibited the physical gathering of any group until April 8th.  Hopefully we be able to resume  our normal services at that time, but we will have to wait to see. In the meantime we invite you to connect with us via email, social media, text messaging or a personal phone call.

We love you all and are praying for the whole congregation during this unique time.  I believe God has a blessing in store for us even during THIS season.

Dear Church family,

Please watch the important video announcement from Pastor Sean regarding our upcoming Sunday services on March 15th.

As stated in the video, due to the recent recommendations from the State of California and Contra Costa Public Health Department to cancel gatherings of 50 or more people, we will not be holding Sunday services this coming Sunday, March 15th.

Instead, we will be having a virtual church service that you can watch online at 10:45am on our website and on our Facebook page.

This decision was made with much prayer and guidance, and we feel that this is the best course of action for this time.

To reiterate, we will not be having Sunday School, Children's Ministry programs or church on campus this coming Sunday, March 15th. However, you are still welcome to gather together in your growth groups. We will continue to keep you posted on upcoming ministry events that are scheduled in the month of March.

If you have any questions, please contact the church office at (925) 934-3056.

We hope that you will be able to join us online this Sunday at one of the links below.

May God continue to bless you and protect your family this season.

In Christ's Service,
Pastor Sean Fitzhugh
